From the shop floor to the boardroom, the team at Parsons Reiss are skilled in delivering customers a full, multi-disciplinary service. Designers, engineers and the administrative team have extensive experience in the tissue, board and paper industry, and through ongoing investment in training and technology, the team has developed further industry specialisms in mechanical, thermal and fluid mechanics.
Bernard Wright, chairman, was one of the founders of Parsons Reiss. He and Mike McCormick, both well known figures in the paper machinery industry, formed the company in 1977, when it was known as Skillforce. Further acquisitions saw the business grow, expanding its customer base in the UK in addition to its export market. It was during this period that the business was able to specialise in steam and condensate systems when it acquired the mill equipment division of Reiss Engineering. Bernard was appointed chairman in 2008 and remains responsible for the stewardship of the company.

Taking over as managing director in 2008, Chris’s vision for the business remains focused on industry needs and on ensuring Parsons Reiss exceeds customer expectations. This he does by making sure the company remains agile and innovative. A mechanical and production engineer by training, Chris joined the company at 16 and has been part of the executive team at Parsons Reiss since x. Chris is well known for his abilities to improvise. As a result of his comprehensive understanding of technology and his ingenuity, he has been instrumental in spearheading the design of a number of industry innovations, particularly in the tissue business.
Wendy Brook has been with Parsons Reiss since 1984 when the company acquired ED Parsons. She is now financial director for the company. Wendy’s first role in the business was as secretary, which gave her the opportunity to gain an overview about the business and the paper and pulp industry. As a result of her financial acuity, Wendy is now well known in the engineering industry for her business acumen. Her financial steerage of Parson Reiss has been pivotal in ensuring Parsons Reiss’ continued growth.
Daniel McCormick is commercial and operations director. Daniel grew up in the business starting after completion of his degree / qualifications. Daniel manages a wide spectrum of functions. From IT to material handling, Daniel is instrumental in delivering cost-effective solutions for Parson Reiss’ clients. He is responsible for managing the logistics required for effective project execution that starts with the suppliers and ends with successful implementation. |
